So here is what I have. Relay checks out. Fuse checks out. But I don't have any constant power for the relay to work with when its engaged when turning on the lights.
Any ideas at something to look at from here?
If I can't sort this out, I guess I could run a relay off the vehicles tail lights to put power to the trailer plug for the trailer running/tail lights?
This turned out to be a strangely cut wire between the fuse and the relay. Not cut like someone meant to. Fixed that up and I have trailer tail/running lights.
I've seen a lot of "I don't have running lights" threads, this is a new cause as far as I can tell.
