Cruise control problems
I have a 2004 FX4, I got it about two years ago with 113k miles and have put on about 20k miles since. Been a good truck only thing I've had to repair was the rear axil seals about 10 kmiles ago.
My problem is my cruise control when set will not hold/ stay on. I can set the speed and in a short time it will shut off. It can be turn on with the resume or the set buttons but will almost alway shut off in a shot time a minute or so.
Has anyone had that is problem and how was it fix, or can any give me a heading to start check for the fail

Since it can be turned back on using the resume button, I would start out by checking the brake switch circuit. Could be a bad BOO(brake on/off) switch. Had the same thing happen to me on a previous truck and that's what it was.
