Ever since i've had the cruise control recall done on my F150,its been hesitant each time I try to set the accelerator. It seems to hesitate for just a second before finally working. This morning I tried to set it and it would not work.I usually set it for 70 mph,so I figured if I try another speed it would work; nothing! I tried it again this evening and still nothing. Then,I tried one more time and it worked.......and continued after several more cycles of off and on....until the last try; it stopped working!Any ideas on where to start looking for a fix?
Power for the electronics of the cruise module all goes through the cruise disconnect switch on the master cylinder.
If either the fusible link has opened (leaky switch) or the switch is open, the cruise mosule looses power.
The recall added the fuse link harness because 1) the switch leaks and causes short circuits and 2) the circuit is ALWAYS HOT on a 20A circuit, which means the truck can burn up at any time...
I took the connection off the switch and blew it out with air and lubed it with CRC QD spray. It worked fine today.I'll post back later if it continues to work.
