1997 f450 2wd 7.3l While driving when the truck it up to temp (after about .5 hrs driving) It will turn off like a light switch engine will just dye no sputtering nothing.
Use to be every few days it would do it 1 time then I could start back up while still driving. Now it has progressivly gotten worse after about an hour of driving it will turn off you will have to let it sit for a couple hours than it is drivable agian. Sugestions?
It's the CPS (Cam Position Sensor). Get one from Ford or IH. The parts store ones don't last. It's very easy to change, takes about five minutes. It's located on the front of the engine down by the crankshaft. It has a metal bracket with one 10mm bolt that holds it in.

I agree.
It could definitely be the CPS, and as stated above, do not use aftermarket.
