i have a 2003 ford f250 7.3l super duty with TS proformance chip, exhaust, cold air intake, EGT Boost and Tranny Temp gauges. the waste gate is blocked off and im looking to get an adjustable boost fooler, is this a good idea or no??
The TS is a relatively mild chip, so 32 psi is plenty of boost if you've got a stock turbo and stock sticks. If you're seeing that much boost, it sounds like your tuning is taking care of the defueling thing and a boost fooler may not be needed.
Of course the stock turbo tends to get a much shorter life when you take it beyond 25 psi or so, so save your money for a better turbo.
OK what size of Turbo would be good?? The only thing I'm worried about is the 02-03 have the weaker connecting rods and I don't want to put to much hp to them and snap a rod
32 psi of boost is not going to harm your connecting rods. Good tuning can take you well North of 400 hp on powdered rods and you'll still be fine. But 32 psi of boost is going to shorten the life of your stock turbo, so start saving your pennies for a 38R or some other upgrade.
Edit: And a boost fooler won't save your PMR's either. It just keeps the truck from de-fueling or setting a CEL, which it sounds like yours isn't doing anyway.
