Turbo Connection????
I'm so glad I stumbled on this site It has been so informative, there is so much great information that you just can't find anywhere else.
This is my first post so bear with me.
I've been having a problem with hard starting and white smoke from the exhaust after warm-up and lack of power, so I took my '06 F-250 6.0l to the dealer to evaluate it. They told me that the EGR Cooler was leaking and that it was going to cost $2800 to fix plus another $350 for some other bull. I said thanks but no thanks.
Anyways, long story short got it pulled apart and put back together and have had a problem with the intake connection on the back of the turbo. I took it out for a test drive and didn't get far and heard a whistle coming from the fire wall under the ashtray.
Here is my quandry, when I mate-up the connection to the up-tube near the firewall there is a 3/8-1/2" space between the bottom of the turbo and the mounting bracket.
Anybody have any sugestions or maybe something I missed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
BigJohn
Now, make the turbo to y-pipe connection first, make sure your sealed even all way around and clamp. Next, tighten up the exhaust manifold to up-pipe/y-pipe, and last tighten the turbo to pedastal.
