Pressure not holding in the brake booster

Ever since I started driving the truck, after it sat for ~3 years, the brakes have felt hard. They don't travel much and that is not the way it was in the past. Also, I have a more powerful motor and I definitely notice it's harder to press the pedal to stop.

I found a thread to test the booster by starting the motor and seeing if the pedal sinks more towards the floor after the motor is started. It didn't. I also have a blower on the truck and this could be causing issues as well.

I tested the vacuum line to the booster and it holds vacuum but when I try to get the booster itself to hold vacuum, it won't. Not even if I push in on the grommet where the vacuum line goes in to help it seal. Seems as if something isn't right inside.

That being said, are there other tests I should do? What options do I have for the booster? Can/should they be rebuilt? Would I be happier in a replacement?

Thanks.
