does anyone know where i can find truck specs without having to pay for them, i just purchaced a 1988 f350 4x4 crewcab SRW longbed with a 460ci. and would like to know more about it. (axle ratio, eng rating, options etc.) i was able to check my vin online but was only able to find out where it was built and confim what engine it came with.
thanks in advance.

all the specs are on the tag on the driver side "B" pillar. take the codes, and post them here. someone will decode them for you.
that will give you the basics.
give me the codes on the tag and i will give you all the truck info. i have the 88 service manuals with all the code breakdowns.

hey tom,
on the sticker in the door i see the vin, weight, gvw, etc. and long the bottom there are 7 spaces with seperations. cant make out the wording to small but im assuming these are the codes your refering to.
168 / W361 / SBD / K / C5 / / 8F
that 6 digit was blank on the sticker also. i tried taking a picture of the decal but it was to dark out by the time i got home. let me know if this help.
no problem. and just in case you do not know, the front is a Dana 60, the rear is a Sterling 10.25, and the transfer case is most likely a Borg Warner 1356
If you want to know even further details. You can contact Ford directly and ask for a Build Sheet. Tells you the exact day the truck was built on, and all the options and colors it left the factory with.
