96 f150 starting problems

96 f150 starting problems
So I replaces the starter and the fender wall solenoid a I went to reconnect the positive terminal the starter automaticly turns the truck over and the key is out the ignition and the ignition is off I checked all fuses and wires are all good

I put the wires on there the way it looks like it should be I've looked for pics and found none

This is how your solenoid should be wired. Is that what you have?

If you have it wired correctly. I would remove the small wire that is hooked on the large post of the fender mounted solenoid that goes down to the starter. If it still cranks the solenoid on top of the starter is bad. If it no longer cranks the fender mounted solenoid is bad.

Well, if it is wired like the post in #4, then I would say either the solenoid on your starter is bad or the one you just bought is bad.

I fixed the wires but as soon as I try to put the positive terminal on it sparks and wants to engage the starter

Ok so im a hundred percent sure everything is properly wire I turn the key over the solenoid on the fender wall engages that's it
