Gas hog
I really need to dump my underpowered 360 gas hog of an engine for this 65 at 28 mpg.

I wonder what was done to get 28 MPG out of that 460? I'd be real interested in knowing there secret. Big question is does it really get that? I like the slicks with paint jobs that color every one I seen I liked.

On a MPG note- I've got a '12 Honda CRV which is a 4 cylinder and it gets 27 MPG average. Only reason I bought the thing... I agree with you guys- there is no way that 460 could get 28MPG.... maybe 2 in city- 8 in highway
Either way a pretty truck= but too rich for my blood.
Camper special? has a tool box on the right bedside.

Maybe the fellow has the wrong speedo gear installed and thinks it gets 28 mpg. I like the charcoal too; the little lady wants to paint her 66 shortbed medium metallic charcoal above side trim and dark metallic teal below.

Absolutely love it I remember seeing it when you first got it painted and posted up pics. Back when I first picked up my 64 i was going over paint colors and was thinking about a gunmetal or graphite grey color. Something like on the 99-04 ford super duties. What's the color you went with? got metallic in it?

My '88 Firebird with 305 gets about 28.5. Stock, and 150k+ miles. On one trip it cracked 30, at 70 - 80 mph. I haven't seen 30 again. I don't know what was up with that.
