Looking for help!! Just pickup a 1988 f350 4x4 crewcab. Looks good and runs great but has no brakes. The pedal goes right to the floor before it even thinks about stopping. With engine running and pumping the pedal, it just goes to the floor. Never builds pressure at pedal. With the engine off the pedal gets harder but spongy and still goes down. There is no leaks that I can see and all 4 wheels are dry. Any tips or advice on what to check or look out for would be appreciated. I'm in Miami,fl.
Thanks in advance.
First ck for air in the lines leaks and proper brake adjustment in the rear . If no air or leaks , and rears adjusted , master cyl is probably bypassing .
thanks for the quick reply, i have visably checked for leaks and everything is dry that i can see. even at the 4 wheels. i will try to check the rear brake adjustment this weekend. i get out of work to late to mess with this during the week. any tips on how i can bleed this thing alone?? im familar with the process, but im only one person.

You can gravity bleed . Open rear bleaders , allow fluid to run till clear . KEEP MASTER FULL , not yelling , just stressing that point . Do same at front . That works good for me most of the time . DO Not touch peddle during that process . But , sounds like a bad master cyl . Good luck ! Wont hurt to bleed first .
Thanks to JWC and rest of the guys that posted. i will definitly try the gravity bleed this weekend to see if it helps also the adjustment on the rear brakes. if all else fails ill replace the master cyl.
Again guys thanks for the tips.
after listening to all the tips from the guys on here, im glad to report that my brake issues are gone. after about 15mins of gravity bleeding and a slight rear brake adjust, my pedal is back to normal and truck stops on a dime. again thanks to all that helped.

it sounds like that would be a good thread to start ( the fixed issue thread). or mabey guys are just embarrased to say that they are still having issues and dont want to ask for more help. after all isnt that what we are here for to meet people that enjoy the same interest and help each other out. but i agree it would be nice to hear more of issues that have been resolved than threads just going cold.

Unlike you, I'm several persons... They call me Legion...
P.S.: That's why it's so easy for me to bleed my brakes "alone"... muahahahahaha
