Surging idle after long highway trips?

Miles, top side of the Petal is a senser , a few years back here on FTE a guy was complaining of petal response did the EGR values and every thing was normal Then he said he sprayed electrical cleaner on that senser and cleaned up the connection. It was fixed . I looked at mine and yea lint, mud, and crud was built up I ware boots so I would think what ever the tip has on them . Check it out
My '05 Excursion came from the dust bowl of Texas: Hereford. So I may have to spray the pedal connector this evening when I get home.
One guy with either a 2002 or 2004 Excursion had a dead pedal when he tried to leave for work. He'd had issues with it before, got frustrated, and stomped on the pedal a few times. He figured he must've cleaned the potentiometer, but it never did it again after that...

Dang Miles this been going on along time your probably ready to jump it off a Cliff LOL I know I would Be
LOOKS like you may have found the Issue since you are able to wiggle the Acclerator pedal wires and DRASTICALY change the reading
The Acc Pedal uses V-Ref so that would Also explain some of the Other DTC if V-ref is Corrupt it could very well be messing with any other sensor that uses V-Ref
ALOT of the DTC you have/Had Share wiring WITH the ACC Pedal so Starting to Look like you may have Finally solved this
The Only other thing I see is the Cooling fan DTC Now Im not seeing that it uses V-Ref BUT it does Supply Vehicle Battery thru the Fan to the PCM
So Maybe a Fan Wire is shorting out off/on and the PCM loses V-Bat intermittenedly IDK
Id fix the ACC Pedal like your thinking and see what Happens
Is it the V-Ref wire at the Acc Pedal that is shorting out

Hey there, acf6. Been reading through this thread and some of this sounds too familiar. The surging at idle after a long trip. This hasn't been much a problem lately, but it was terrible at times. Hasn't done it for a long time now. The random hot long crank is just... yeah, random. The blue smoke when cold, I see every time I start it and the exhaust smells different from all other 6.0L's I ever smell. (There's 4 of them on my yard every day) The random acceleration pedal problem where you shut it off and then it's good again. First did it to me 6 months ago 800 km from home at 10 PM, which is frustrating! Never came up again til Christmas. Two consecutive days, but hasn't acted up since. The fan code (P0528 on mine) has always been there since I've had the truck ... Now a few questions. What kind of boost numbers do get, say at 80km (50 MPH) if you push it as hard as you can without unlocking torque converter? Does yours also seem sluggish on bottom end? When it starts warm, does it crank until it fires and then perfect immediately, or does it seem to begin to fire and then slowly gain momentum until it reaches idling RPM? Does your turbo sound slow in spooling up?
