ICP Removal

My ICP is leaking oil from the connection and I got a new one from Guzzle. Have trouble getting my original off. can not get a wrench in there under the 'dome'. I have put some water pump pliers and have been trying to loosening it up by grabbing the 'dome'. I have hit it with 'blaster'.... I am afraid if I twist on it too hard that it will snap off and I will really be screwed. Any suggestions. Hit it with 'blaster' for a few days?

Thanks

I used a 5/8 crowfoot with a couple of 6" extensions. I had it off in less than a minute.

What Dragon said. Crows Foot wrench.
If you get a set, make sure though that it also has the size for the new ICP. I beleive the OEM is 5/8 and the new is 1inch. Crows foot wrenchs on these are the easiet way IMO to change this out.

I have changed out about a dozen of these and with a crows foot...didnt even need PB Blaster. But ended up buying two sets of wrenches...the first one didnt have the larger size I needed for the new ICP.
However...the new ICP can also be snugged up with a deep socket since the "nut" is larger then the connector.

Thanks guys.
Did not think of that. Sounds as easy as it should be.
I don't have any crows feet, but I will get some.

I'm having trouble with warm starts. Once started, runs fine. Checked the IPC sensor and no oil in the connector. 2002 excursion with 215,000, 7.3. Recent oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air filter change done by myself. Rotella synthetic. Was having the problem before the changes. Have been running synthetic for about 40,000 miles. Any other suggestions of why it might have trouble starting? Thank you.

HF has a nice set of metric and standard crows foot wrenches for this. I used a socket for the new ICP.
