Alright I've pegged my problem as a faulty ICP sensor and got a new one from eBay. I'm curious if there's anything special I need to know about installing the new one. Does it need to be lubed? Can I install it without a torque wrench? etc? Also, What size wrench do I need to remove the old one (pictured) and what about the new one (also pictured).
Sorry, I don't remember what sizes. I use a crow's foot wrench on the old one and the new one is designed to be installed with a socket.
Be very careful when pulling the old one out and putting the new one it. The oil in that hole goes straight to your injectors, so keep any crud out of there. Smear some oil on the o-ring, but don't put anything on the threads. You can probably get away without a torque wrench, just remember too loose is better than too tight. It's easy to tighten up. It's hard to remove a broke sensor or fix a hairline crack in the head.
I just replaced mine a few weeks ago and I too can't remember what size it was. Tho I only had wrenches and if you do too, you'll probly have to loosen the intercooler pipe on that side and swing it out of the way so you can have some room to move the wrench. Took me bout 10 min tho. But like Chris said either blow or clean the dirt away from the hole first!
