Yes, I bought a GM. 2005 Suburban Z71, 78K miles. One owner. Bought, serviced, and traded back to a dealership in Chaska.
I'm happy with it so far. Dave and Mike picked over it pretty good. It's got a laundry list of things here and there. My only complaint so far is the tires. Crappy tires and nobody bothered to ever get it aligned so the tires are chopped on the inside of the tread. Horrible road noise. I haven't had time to take any pictures. Every time I think about it I've got my hands full taking stuff in and out of the house or it's too late at night to get a decent picture.
Just got the call to go to work. Have a good night.
Have fun at work Dale!

With everything I looked at, I figured I had the best shot at having decent luck with this one. Plus, I know a mechanic or two I can trust to not screw it up.
Took the day off yesterday. Started to do some projects on the CR-v.
It all went South from there:
I started with front struts. Left front off. Half shaft comes disconnected. Actually, this is a good thing considering that what should have been grease looked a bit more like grayish soup. The car has 203,000 on the ticker. So, it was time. Time to disassemble. Cripes! Nothing comes apart. The salt wouldn't even let the rotor off. I wound up having to take the axle nut off with the knuckle off the car. The rotor too, although it wasn't captured. It was just frozen. I had to cut the nut off too. That sucks cause the half shaft has a huge core deposit. I'm hoping to get some of it back.
So, what started as a job to replace pads, struts, and swap back to summer tires, is now: (both sides Front)
Control arm bushings (front and rear)
Lower Ball Joint
hub assembly
rotor
half shaft
struts
pads
And to make it all more special, another ABS sensor is now defunct. Those things are impossible to take out of the knuckle after 10 years of marriage.
Just got back from Napa. Got everything but the rotors.
I'm thinking that the rear half shafts and struts are coming due and will do them very soon too.
Well, my project is stalled. I thought that the hub assemblies included the bearings. Nope. So, I'll have to wait til Monday for those. I've spent hours taking the knuckle apart. Everything is rusted and seized. Also, I had to grind away metal off the knuckle to get my ball joint separator receiver tube in place. What a joy that was to get out. But, not really any more challenging than getting the snap ring out to remove the bearing, or removing the bearing. Thank god for presses, adaptor plates, pushing stuff, and big effin hammers.
