They are morons everywhere. It just varies on what their moronic behavior happens to be.

Good afternoon everyone! Been a busy day for me today including having the alternator go out on my shop van. Luckily it was close to the shop when it died so we pulled it down here and I picked one up from the junkyard for $30 bucks and back in business!

Glad to hear you got your shock back already Jay! That was a close one considering how fast the snow is melting away these days..LOL!

Plus, I only want to do it once.

Your obviously not in business for yourself. When you need the van yet this afternoon for a service call and it is 150.00 for one from the parts store or 30 from the junkyard then I will choose the junkyard one and now I will take the old one across town to the guy that rebuilds alternators and have the old one rebuilt and that gives me a spare in case I have trouble in the future. Don't worry though Dustin I don't understand all your decisions for your vehicles either.

Just an FYI the junkyard alt came off a vehicle with 60k miles and 2yrs newer then mine with 160k on it and if the original made it that many miles then I am good with that.

Sorry but you are never garunteed anything to do it once! If you find parts that will last forever then let me know!

Sometimes parts store alternators only last a few thousand miles.

Those Chinese ones aren't worth their weight in scrap. They use cheap parts.

Should ride a lot better now.

I just swapped the primary clutch from the 05 to the 09. The original one on the 09 only engages around 3200 and the 05 around 3800. I like the higher engagement on the 05 going see if I like it on the 09. Hopefully ride to work tomorrow and try it.

Got around 10" of new snow. More on the ground now then all "winter" and now its spring
