I think suspension lift if much better. Not a fan of body lift.
33"s should fit stock
35" will need a little bit of lift, but not a major amount. The back may not even be an issue depending on your spring setup, you may only need to raise the front end maybe 2".
i agree with the guys. 33's will fit stock with no trimming.
35's will fit with trimmed front bumper, or extended mounts. just don't go crazy driving off road and you will be fine.
all my trucks had 35's on stock suspension, the only thing i did was remove the front bumpers and install push bumpers.
if you are going to be serious off road driving with full suspension travel, go for a 4 inch lift.

Yeah, the closest clearance is the front bumper. The back will fit 35"s no problem. You may be able to raise the front end an inch or so and clear them. I've never thought about it, but it may be that if you want to stay with the stock bumper, that you could make brackets or something to move the front bumper out (forward) an inch to give you better clearance.
When you're looking at clearances, find the position in the steering where you have the least clearance in the front at the bumper.
I had a 91 F 250 With a 4" rancho lift (pics still in my album) I ran 34" Mickey Thompson MTZ's. I liked the Lift the quality of the parts was good. In the instructions of the lift kit It said you could clear 37" tires with some bumper trimming.
When I was looking for my Llift I spent a long time considering the rough country lifts. They offer some nice kits and some factory replacement springs for the front just to level out the frontend. I think they might be kinda what your looking for, just a little bit of lift to help clear some 33" tires with out cutting.

4 inch lift will clear 40 inch tires with no problems as long as the bumper sides are not there.
33's will fit stock with no trimming at all.
you only need to trim or offset the bumper for 35's.
