Hey Everyone-
I have a 1995 f-250 with the 7.3 Powerstroke. The problem I'm having is the fuel filter light comes on but only on the rear tank. It's a long story but here goes - It started when some a__hole at my last place of employment decided to put a whole bunch of dirt into my rear tank. Needless to say I didn't find out until the truck started starving out when I ran it off of the rear tank. I had the tank pulled and cleaned, the lines blown out, the fuel filter changed (twice). The dirt clogged the fuel tank transfer switch and I had the bed pulled and the switch changed. While going through all of this the truck developed a bad fuel leak with fuel in the valley of the engine. Had all the hoses at the fuel bowl changed, the banjo bolts changed or repaired and the fuel pump changed. After all of this ($) the truck will run off of the rear tank but as soon as the RPMs come up to about 1500 the fuel filter light starts coming on. The truck seems to run fine but the light always comes on. This happens only on the rear tank. I tried running it with the fuel cap off to see if I had a blocked vent line; but same result. It seems like I have some kind of restriction in the fuel line but the lines have been blown out and the mechanic could not find any type of kinked line or anything while the bed was off. Sorry for the long post but both the mechanic and myself are at wits end. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -Duane
Sorry for the late reply guys; been so busy with work. I don't have a fuel pressure gauge handy, but I think I'm going to look into buying one. When I asked my mechanic if the problem could be in the pickup in the rear tank he told me that the fuel pressure was good so it couldn't be that; now I'm not so sure. I've spent a lot (and I mean a lot) of $$$ trying to get this fixed and still have the same problem. I feel my mechanic is trust worthy but I'm starting to have my doubts. Just so frustrating. I need to try and figure this out on my own. I really appreciate any help. Thanks again!
