I have a 1994 F250 with the 300. Sometimes I will start the truck, and it will run badly (like it is running out of gas) and then die. This does not always happen. Also, if i am driving, and come to a stop, then give it gas, it will kind of "cut out" then go fine. It will do this for a while at every stop or slow down, then be fine. The truck idles well and once you get going it drives and runs fine. Fuel Filter maybe?
hi new hear . Hears just a couple of thoughts sounds like your fuel pump might be going out but first change filter and check fuel pressure at the rail. I have a jeep that does this when its under a half a tank
I figured if it is the fuel pump it would run or it wouldn't. That is how it was on the other two cars that I owned and the fuel pumps went out. I do have the duel tanks, so I suppose that a test would be to run the rear tank and see how that works. The only problem with that is that I never use the rear tank. I bought the truck from a farmer and he never used the rear tank, so I am concerned about sediment in the tank. I don't want to send that stuff through the fuel system. I guess I coulf fill it up and then run it, change the filter a couple times, and call it okay. I don't really want to drop the tank at the moment. But anyhoo, if the filter doesn't help, and then the fuel pressure is low, what would the problems I should look at be?
