Dead in CA
I have the gpcm... not sure how to "bridge" that one... damn CA model! I know there is a black plug and a grey plug, I'm getting even side errors. Oil is good. Not sure how to check HPOP....
At that those temps I'm sure your fuel did gel up. It only happened once on my truck when it was in the single digits. I didn't have any problems after adding the 911 and it warmed up a bit. Check out this link: DIESEL 9?1?1® For Winter Emergencies: Winter Rescue Formula ? use to reliquefy gelled fuel and de-ice frozen fuel-filters.
Would all the wax crystals or whatever it's called break down after the truck was brought back to a warmer climate?
Some may break down but I have seen where a lot doesnt re-integrate into the fuel and just stick to the filter causing flow issues. This is pretty much why it is recommended to pull the filter if your fuel does gel and replace it.
Wait wait wait....you said you replaced 1 battery, not both?
I'm betting that you had 2 batteries that were going out, one was much worse than the other, you replaced the bad one, and the other one began to fail shortly after. Pulled the other one down with it. I'm betting you are loosing voltage while cranking. While I've seen one of these trucks fire off around 10.1V 10.5 seems to be the magic number for the injectors to actually fire.
This might be a strange and silly question, but after you drained your fuel bowl, did you remember to close the drain valve completely?
Usually when these trucks go from starting to no start overnight its something pretty simple. Other thing would be CPS, but if you're seeing movement on the tach I would assume that its good.

I will tell you from experience, if you don't have 2 GOOD batteries, you ain't startin'.
I went thru 2 sets of Refurb Interstates until I gave up on them and got brand new ones. If you have a bad one, the cold from your trip probably killed it the rest of the way.
Replace the other batt and try again.

Still got another day before I can look at it again. Plan is to load test thw batteries, probably replace either way, and see where I'm at. Should it start, I'll still be trouble shooting the gpcm for the even side plugs...
Thanks for the hints guys! Fingers crossed its the batteries!

I didnt read backup again but I would check both outside and inside of the valve covers... As well as the 40 pin harness that goes over the top off the drivers side valve cover for chaffing or broken wire. Also look aroung the shock tower for that same harness getting damaged.
I had the same issue with the even bank of glow plugs and replacing the GPCM did the trick as there is a connector for each bank on it. Mine may have just been from me messing around under the hood and knocking it loose, but as mentioned above, I have no idea how to test it
