Good deal . Ive been doing a lot of chip research and think I'll be going with php as well, interested to hear how you like it. Where are you in Oregon?

I'm right in the heart of the Willamette Valley, Im about and hour south of Portland.
I did a LOT of research about all of the companies and PHP seemed to give the most realistic and safe tunes, they are confident in what they offer and back it up 110%. Not to mention, you don't have to pay for each tune. There's a lot of good tuners but PHP won out, I like that you can reburn/modify tunes with the chip in the truck...DP also offers similar but I didn't care for the answers I received from them, and $hundreds more for similar tunes. I'll let you know what I think once I'm rollin saturday.
So I got it all installed today, it was quite the production to get the computer out of the truck- I had to completely unbolt the inner fender well and use a giant pry bar with one hand while I reached over the fender and shimmied the computer out! I must be one of those lucky guys where everything is a 1/2" closer together than on most trucks because i remember my downpipe was a major ordeal too. Anyway, back to chip talk.
ADVICE: for those who will be installing a chip, it will take longer than a half hour like they tell you it takes. REALLY clean the terminals on the computer before installing the chip! I had to take it back out because it wasn't clean enough, and I cleaned the heck out of it the first time.
RESULTS: my truck used to up shift at 2800 rpm under wot, and now it shifts at 3500 - it still seems to bog a bit after it upshifts but I was also running the 80hp tune so I'm sure I was taxing the hpop a bit. Definitely more power and better response when rolling through the twisty country roads around here, I don't think I'm seeing the 80hp claimed but its a noticeable improvement. Downshifts are easier to prompt but seem to come on pretty hard when not necessary.
I've gotta haul my trailer about 100 miles in the morning and I'm gonna use my new tow tunes, ill keep updating the next few days as I learn the tunes better.
So I typically get about 12.5 mpg and today I filled up and calculated 14.55 mpg. That included about 6 wide open runs in 80 performance mode. I do notice the truck stumbles a bit when you roll into the throttle heavy in 80dd mode... Not sure why that is? Too much fuel being dumped at once perhaps? I ran the truck 5-70mph wot and it burns pretty clean, just a light trail of black smoke nothing terrible. Overall definite power improvement but a few bugs mixed in
I don't think I've ever looked at my tach on a wot run! I haven't done that many, and when I do I'm always looking at other gauges for one reason or another. I'm sure its not 3500, but I really don't know what it is. One more thing I have to figure out how to look at next time..
Doc, I have php tunes too, although different chip. If the DD tune you have is anything like the economy tune I had (could be), mine sucked too. I got rid of that tune and added another tow tune.

Yeah I think the tunes are similar since there was no economy tune listed for my truck.. I'll keep adding info as I learn more
