Diable Chip ordering questions

I am calling Motorhaven tomorrow about ordering the chip. My question is -- If I order by phone, do you just send me the chip and if I'm satisfied I pay for it? Or do you bill me first? I've actually heard you send it first before...just curious.

Also: Ken, do you remember when I listed the questions about what I wanted the chip to do? Do you still have those questions and the ECU code I gave you? If so great, if not here it is again:

ECU code: VLW2
2003 F150 4.2L Sport single cab, 5-speed

Diablo stage 2 chip

Thanks again-

We bill and then send. Sending an item across the country unpaid for is just asking for problems (its why we no longer handle CODs, even to government agencies). Not that you're going to be a problem....

You have 30 days from the day it arrives at your home (not the day it ships). We even extend that if circumstances warrant it. I won't say we're perfect and have never refunded a chip. I will say that the vast majority don't have any problems and are happy with the results.

Well, I ordered the chip today. The Stage 2 Diablo is coming to me! I can't wait man! I feel like a kid opening presents for the first time or something!

I expect to get the chip in about a week because I ordered it by check. I'm kinda nervous though. I probably shouldn't be, but you know how it is! Anyways, thought I'd let you all know! I'll keep you posted on the results!

Hey, my ECU code is VLW2...he said he'd have to get it programmed with the VLW1 or something like that. He kinda explained that it could be better or worse. I am getting the stock program and the 93 Octane program. How does the VLW1 differ from the VLW2? Just curious ya know.

Ken, do you think the chip will be here before Thanksgiving holidays? I'm hoping for it, but I know how it is man. Busy, busy and work doesn't do itself, so I'll understand if not.

Usually when we switch box codes there is no difference. On rare occasions Ford makes drastic changes, such as a 20HP difference when switching PMT codes on the diesels.

The chip should be there in time!

Hey, don't want to hijack a thread, but didn't want to post another thread just to ask a simple question. I am going to get a diablo custom-burned chip with the forethcoming christmas money, and I was wondering...Can I specify what I want the rev limiter to be set at? Seeing as how I have to have custom programming anyways ( I am putting in larger fuel injectors when I get the chip), Will it be any more money to specify?

When we custom burn a chip its one flat price regardless of the number of custom changes. You can specify rev limits, speed limit, shift points, etc. Just about anything!

The stock injectors have more then enough capacity to provide the correct air/fuel ratio for just about anything your throw at it, superchargers and very high NOS being exceptions. What are you doing that requires larger injectors?

I have the vulcan engine with 14lb. injectors. My calculations with a BSFC of .045, I can get about 150Hp off my stock injectors. Going up to 19lb. ones will allow me to get closer to 200hp. I will be doing many other mods down the line, and will want to be able to supply enough fuel.

Okay, just wondering. Didn't want to see you spend money on a modification that won't do any good. What do you have planned?

Well, eventually an Eaton m90, but that's a while down the road. I'v got a phenolic spacer that I'm putting on over thanksgiving, going port and polish the upper intake while Iv'e got it off. I already have a 190LPH fuel pump in the gas tank (I know that's a bit excessive, but I got a good deal on ebay). Probably going to get a TB off a 4.6L mustang this weekend soon. Iv'e heard they bolt on to my intake, not sure yet though. Put in a new cam, new 1.7 roller rockers, other little things. I want over 200Hp to the rear wheels before I put in the 'charger. We'll see how it goes.
