First post - newbie question

Hello,I have a 93 f-250 4x4 bone stock. Looking to upgrade a bit after 155k miles. I'm looking at the Dynomax 19430 sys. It indicates 2.5" at the intake manifold take off to 4" after muffler. My question is; what is the stock diameter start to end?

Thx in advance
Rick

I believe he wants to know the diamater of each part of the stock exhaust system. Engine size matters, which is not indicated. The easiest thing to do would be measure what you have, I doubt anyone knows off the top of their head.

Just realized this is the idi section, so you must have a 7.3. Someone might be able to tell you diameters. The Y pipe is a big restriction, so if the system you are looking at doesnt replace that, you might need to fabricate a Y to get the full benefit.

Sorry,
1993 Ford F-250 4x4 super Cab 7.3 liter IDI diesel non turbo, E4OD transmission with 155,000 miles. My understanding is that some small gains in performance can be made by making engine intake and exhaust improvements. With respect to the exhaust improvements, the Dynomax exhaust system indicates that from the exhaust manifolds back, it starts at 2.5 inches and goes to 3 inches then 4 inches after the muffler, ending with a 5 inch tip at the end. My question was, what the initial diameter after the manifold was. If stock is also 2.5 inches, then replacing y pipe is not much use, and the Hyperdyne 3inch system (without y pipe) would be equivant?
Thank you in advance.

Stock is 2 or 2.25, same size as the manifolds, but that would give you benefit. The stock Y was built for anything but power.. 4" is overkill for a NA engine, but if you plan to turbo later its a solid exhaust. Im looking at the Diamond Eye 4" turbo back dual exhaust myself.

Im not aware of any aftermarket exhaust kits for the IDI so make sure its not for 460 or 7.3psd or anything like that.
