So over the past few months my truck has developed a but of a squeak, it only happens on sharp bumps (potholes, cracks, crappy California roads in general) and its starting to drive me nuts. It seems to be coming from the passenger side either in the cab or farther forward. I have replaced the fender antisqueaks and I don't think it's anything in the door. I think te steering stabilizer is causing problems because I now have a pop in the front end so that will be pulled off ASAP and eliminate it as a potential culprit.
Any ideas on what it could be? Ill try to get video or audio of the squeak tomorrow.
Need to know what you are working on. Coil spring 2 wheel drive, leaf spring 2 wheel drive, 4 wheel drive. For now push down on front bumper ( bounce front end).
Front/rear rubber spring and shackle bushings encased in metal. Rubber cracks, squeeks begin. Spray some soapy water on the bushings, see if squeek disappears.
When was the last time the front wheel bearings were repacked?
Bushings were replaced 2 years ago on the front, still need to do the rears. Bearings were packed when I did the disk brake swap 3 or so years ago. Ill try the soapy water and see if it helps
