I have an 08 6.4 with 74k on it and an edge evolution programmer. Put the programmer on around 50k. I run it on economy mode in unless I'm towing. Here's the problem( other than a radiator leak since 40k that they won't warranty): the Regen mode has been coming on more frequently and now will not turn off. I have gone through a whole tank and its still on. In addition to that the egt is going up to 1350 during Regen. Even when the temp isn't that high( only 1000) a clicking can be heard that shakes the truck then goes away. I have been running the program at factory levels for the past 3 weeks and the problem has gotten worse.
Any thoughts on what's going wrong? The motor is still under 100k warranty, could the problem be covered under warranty ? If its not I can get it fixed at a diesel shop cheaper than dealership which is preferable.
My 2008 f250 did the same thing, but with mine the check engine light came on and fuel mileage dropped. I took it to the shop today and the tech ran the code came back to needing an egpf replacement, here's the kicker because my truck has an afe intake they are refusing to replace the filter. Going back to fight again tomorrow. I hope you have better luck than me, ford is getting as bad as dodge with things voiding warranties.
