you can't get a ring gear for a flex plate.
you will probably have to get a new flex plate.
there are 11 listed on www.car-part.com with the highest priced at $100.
Flexplates usually have the teeth welded on. At least mine did.
I think I paid something like $30-40 for a brand new flexplate. I think itd be more worth it to just buy a new one than mess with cutting off welds and welding a new ring gear on. Not to mention your welds would have to be perfect to ensure its balanced.
If your like me and get flexplates and flywheels mixed up, then its a different story
he mentioned its got a c6 behind it, so that would be a flex plate. i just had my engine out a week or two ago, and it wasn't like most gassers i've played with. it had a moderately heavy flywheel with the ring gear, and the flex plate that bolts to the torque converter was a seperate piece. that said, i don't remember if the ring gear was welded on or not.
if we look at one that isn't welded, cut the old one off, get the new one HOT in the oven, then try to place it over the flywheel. add heat if needed with a cutting torch, and have several clamps handy in case its a little warped like the last one i installed and needs a little encouragement
