Anyone using one? I am looking for suggestions on a good one, not necessarily a cheap one. I don't need too much output power, it is to be used for recharging batteries for RC cars. I don't want to tax my alternator & batteries too much by using it for large loads anyway.
I can't say a specific brand, but I would suggest getting one that is a pure sine wave output NOT a modified sine wave output (square wave) cheapo. Pure sine wave is what you have in your home electricity...modified is real dirty output and you can have problems particularly with any device that is frequency sensitive. Look for units that are pure sine wave and low output (amperage), that's all you need for your proposed usage.
I just got off the phone with the Hobby Town guy, didn't realize the charger will have battery clips on it to charge directly off the truck batteries, so no need for an inverter and going from DC to AC and back to DC which I understand is not very efficient. This is for my grandson, first time for battery powered for me though.
