That fuse was blown and wrapped with foil, it has been changed, the WTS Light was working fine. truck still wont start, he couldn't get his scanner to communicate with the computer, and like i said the computer has been wet a good bit, it is rusted up and corroded

Idiots that wrap foil on a fuse ... . In any case be sure to repair or unplug the fuel filter heater. Actually fuse #22 controls the PCM relay coil, another fuse powers the PCM through through that relay contacts.

I don't want to beat a dead horse here but you indicated the WTS light was working .. when did it stop working, when the foil was removed and the fuse was replaced? If the fuel heater is shorted fuse #22 will keep blowing, PCM will have no power and a scanner will not connect. It's sometimes hard to see if fuse #22 is blown visually but an ohm meter should tell the story ..

Did you TEST the fuses in the interior fuse box as well?

all fuses were checked especially after finding 3 of them with foil on them.

maybe it will, in most case's I maybe questioning the guy working on it, but the guy working on it is a family friend that i have known since i was old enough to remember him. my dad and his oldest brother grew up together so it is one of those instance's were i actually trust someone with my truck.

I'm sure someone else will chime in on this but I think the PCM needs to match the tranny type.

Thats kinda what i was trying to ask. and the answer i found searching was pretty much any OBS Powerstroke that has a Automatic trans. I know that obviously one with a stranded trans wont work in a automatic transmission type.
