I noticed yesterday on my truck, there is the computer in the traditional spot in the firewall, and one on the drivers side fender above and forward of the traditional one. Is the one on the fender for the engine management? or is it even a computer? Scratching my head here
The IDM (injector driver module) isn't a computer, it's an amplifier. It creates the necessary voltage (~115vdc) to fire the injectors.
Thats correct. 3 different IDM's thruout the 7.3 PSD run. 94.5/02.
IDM#100=100v
IDM#110=110v
IDM#120=120v
Then you have the J. Servo mod that = 140v
I run the 140v. Motor runs better with it.
ooooh. Going to have to search for the mod then...I remember hearing about the idm mod. Thanks.
edit: crap search is down.
What does the mod do? and how do you do it?
