Hello. I have a quick question regarding the hood adjuting bumpers. I have a 1977 Ford F150. My hood shakes around the front corners when i'm traveling at higher speeds. My grandfather showed me where the hood adjusting bumpers go. Said he must of taken them off. My question is, broncograveyard.com offers two different ones.
The hood bumpers are not adjustable. They just act as pads.
If your hood is bobbing up and down, the hood needs to be adjusted so there is no gap between the bumper and the fenders. Be patient. Hood adjustments will drive ya nuts because the front end sheetmetal and hinges have very, very loose tolerances unlike today's cars/trucks.
Well i do not have any hood bumpers. Im pretty sure thats why my kinda shakes at high speed. It opens and closes fine. I ordered the ones from bronco graveyard. The #16001SD with the big rubber pad on them. I ordered two. Hopefully this help.

devin28,
I was just getting ready to ask the same question you did. My Hood is rocking back and forth and there are what look like a place for the bumpers you discribed on my truck. Thanks for the info and let me know if they fix your problem. If they do I will be ordering some as well...
Our trucks don't have adjustable hood bumpers, they have (4) fixed bumpers instead, what you bought is for the early Broncos.
If your hood is shaking at highway speeds your hood latch needs adjusted and/or your bumpers are missing.
montana_highboy, thanks for the help..
Adjusted the hood latch and the high speed wabbles are gone. I have to tell you though I didnt have to move it much to get it to adjust properly. The hood line is decieving as it looks strait down the side of the hood even when it wasnt adjusted right... It may be a good Idea to replace the Hood Bumpers just as cheap insurance incase the old ones are worn out...

I have the 4 square rubber bumpers that go on the seam or whatever on the hood. I ordered 4 new ones just to give it a shot. They were cheap enough. The hood opens and shuts just fine. Still pops open when I pull the latch. The shaking hood problem seems it just comes from the front corners. Can this still be a hood latch problem?

I'll quote myself because apparently you didn't read it the first time.
