So I'm getting ready to put my hood on and I remember that I had removed the hood bumpers prior to painting it and want to reinstall them, however this was a used hood I got off craigs list and it appears to have 73-75 style hood bumpers held on by two screws, My original hood is a 77 as is my truck and it used the style that slid into a groove in the hood, or better said slots...........Will it make any difference or interfere with the hood opening and closing if I use the 73-75 hood bumpers on my 1977 f150?.......as the hood I am now using is off a 73-75 and doesn't have slots cut for 77 style hood bumpers I still have the rusted out original hood so I was able to verify the difference.
I noticed the different ones a few weeks ago when comparing years.
Being that the hoods are pretty much identical especially in the lip area, I would see absolutely no difference if you screw them on just like they would be installed on a 73-75???
Do it and see??? Nothing a dab of bondo or fiberglass can't fix. Even caulk for that matter right?

ummmm this truck is currently almost done being restored/ already painted.......so a no go on bondo or caulk if it even came to that.
For that matter... Wouldn't a 73-75 rubber bumper leave the slot of the 76-79 hood exposed?
yes.......on my 77 hood you can see where there are areas dimpled to drill through if you were to uses the earlier style on the 77 hood I have, basically they have the pattern dimpled on my old hood, however the 75 hood I have doesn't have any slots precut, so one option on that hood for me.
I have a 1977 F150 that has a hood that takes the larger two screw bumpers. I ordered the ones you link to in your first post from JBG and they work perfectly. Everything lines up nice and the hood gap couldn't be more even.
