I have a tuner from 5 star and it works like no other!! AWESOME!

My question is, what increase in trans shift pressures are other users tuning the tranny at.

What is a safe increase in pressure without decreasing the life of the tranny, or causing damage.

The tranny is stock and I do not do alot of towing/hauling.Right now, I am set at a 20% increase in shift pressure through the gears. It feels nice and firm, but I do not want to damage the tranny.

 

did mike make you tunes or did you just buy the tuner and adjust stuff yourself? Either way on a SCT tuner max is only 25% which is rather soft i think. many of us especially the diesel guys install "real" shift kits that can bark the tires during a shift. Major damage occurs when the shift is too slow and soft like stock. if your happy with the 20% leave it there, i wasn't happy with it so i installed a Trans Go kit in my 4R100 to make it shift even better

 

I got the 87 octane tunes. Mike has not made any custom tunes for me.
I do plan to put the Transgo tugger upgrade in sometime in the future.
