2005 V10 with cylinder misfire for #2 and 10. Removed all plugs and replaced them, they were originals and were not in very good shape. Drove and still had misfire, swapped coils from Cyl 1 to Cyl 2 and Cyl 9 to cyl 10 and drove, misfire stayed with #2 and #10 cylinders. Check engine light does come on and log codes. When codes are cleared it will sometimes run good for awhile before light comes back on. Is it possible for the intake to be causing misfire onr is it an internal valve issue.
If you have a scanner showing the "live data" might help in this case . Is it the coils or the injectors acting up ?
It would not hurt if you try an injector cleaner .
Good luck
have to agree here,it is very possible that the missfire is a plugged injector on a truck of this age with what is now called gasoline pulling all sorts of crud out the gas tanks.
All injectors are new and scanner has been hooked up to monitor cylinder contribution and #2 and #10 are showing misfires. According to scanner all injectors are okay.
while late due to illness, I would pull and check the injectors to see if they are properly spraying, and do a compression and leak down test of each cylinder, check for loose corroded wires at the injector plug
todays gas in many areas amounts to junk that causes many problems including sticking valves in the guides to premature burning of valves, motors built now are unless flex fuel, not capable of handling more then 10% grain based additives, testing of my own for repairs to small engine 2 stroke motors has found counts as high as 25% in pump gas marked 10%. which lead to burnt pistons and in a few cases sticking/burnt valves in a few very small displacement 4 stroke motors.
Before I replaced all 10 coils, my mechanic suggested super dosing the gas tank with "berry mans B12" injector cleaner.
At 1/4 tank, put the entire can in. Which is good for 20+ gallons.
It seemed to help quite a bit, as my brother ran the truck out of gas once. Which probably dragged all sorts of crud through the injectors.
