The $10 ones look the same and are of the same quality. But, someone is probably thinking that when they bring their truck to a car show and someone is looking at the VIN plate, the owner can say...."hey man, check out those NOS rivets I have there".

I have doubts about these being NOS Ford. Buck you're correct, these are the same as Marti's (and also AMK Products). Also, they are not in Ford packaging.
And IIRC the truly "original" rivets were hollow, not cupped.
I've got two sets of these rivets sitting on the shelf, anybody wants a deal I'll sell the sets for $50 each .
There are parts that the term "NOS" means something and the price should reflect it. However, the same term gets thrown around too much and people start to jack up the price on anything that's NOS, but it's really up to the person who is willing to pay what a seller wants.
I thought this might be appropriate to ask now, what kind of rivet gun puts in these rivets?
Don't need a gun. You just put the rivets in the hole and then use the right size punch and small hammer and hit the center of the rivet. The backside of the rivet will flare out and hold into place. At least I think that's how I installed mine.

Yeah, that's the way these work. If you look close, there are four little slits in the center domed part of the rivet. After you install them you take a 3/16" punch and tap the domed part, this flattens the dome at the same time the four slits split and flare out the internal part of the rivet. This locks the rivet in place.
The price of these rivets dont suprize me, When I restored my 67 Chevy it cost $40/Rosette Rivet to hold the Vin Plate in the door. Of course if your doing a show quality vehicle whats another $80... Considering the reproduction tags where $200 a piece...

Ouch! My reproduction plate was, I think, $45.00 and the rivets were $1.75 ea.
EDIT: I checked Marti's website, either my memory is slipping or Marti's priced have dropped. The door tags are $30 and the rivets are $1.50 ea.
These are Marti's rivets, AMK's are the same.
Like I said, I doubt the seller's rivets are truly NOS Ford parts.
As they say, there's a sucker born every minute .
