power steering help
I was hauling wood out of the woods and turning my truck and trailer around in the dirt and the top hose blew out of the flange of the power steering pump (threaded part stayed in and oring and flange pulled apart), so i drove home leaking all my oil out and replaced the whole hose with a different one, i have tried countless times to bleed it out (up on jack stands lock to lock with engine off) and now it just keeps bubbling over. Does it sound like the pump went bad or am i overlooking something?

You have a '78-'79 1/2 ton four wheel drive, don't you?
I went through this last year. This is THE ONLY way to bleed it properly. Your parts are fine, you just have to bleed it the proper way.

Sory I didn't post that which truck, but it's my 77 1/2 ton 4x4 with a 302 in it and it has the surpentine belt set-up on it, i will have to check the ps gearbox to see which it is, it could have been swapped out too!

The serpentine set up was swapped on to the truck. It didn't come that way. If you have a late model '77, you have the '78-'79 gear box. It'll be easy to tell, the power steering lines go into the BOTTOM side of the gear box.
