It can. This conversion is alot of work. I have a 76 f350 SC dually 2wd that had a small engine fire but the body and paint is showroom condition. I've thought about putting the running gear out of my highboy under and putting a cummins in it. Making it the ultimate work horse and selling my V10 Super Duty.

My plan was to convert it, my buddy has a 73' highboy that I was gonna take parts off of. I was just gonna do a 4in lift but decided not to cause i would go through u joints like crazy. I now I'm gonna go with a 2inch lift and run 35"s I should get about 5in overall won't I?
Why not use you body on his frame? Moving body mounts (if needed?) & cut the box down to a short box and you would have a cool truck.
