Tire question

I am looking for some suggestions on new tires. I have a 2005 Limited 4X4 with a stock lift and rims. I want the biggest tire I can fit in there, without doing any cutting. Ideally I would like an aggressive tread. Any suggestions?

I like the Bridgestone Dueler Revos, 285's. I hear the Silent Armor, TKO AT and Wranglers are popular options also.

I'm in the same boat. I have been looking real hard to find this information too. It looks like 33" tires will be the cleanest install. I really would like to go for the 255/85R16 size tire and those sizes are manly in the mud terrain tread. I am just unsure how silly (skinny) the tires will look like under my Ex. However, I think they will fill out the wheel wells nicely from the side.

I have seen 285/75R16, 305/70R16 and 315/75R16 mounted up, but I think they look a little poochy on factory rims. Especially the 305/70 and 315/75!

I have narrowed my tire selection down to 255/85R16 or 265/75R16 and probably go with BFG KM2 when the funds will allow it. I am just a little concerned about power loss/drivetrain ware if bumping up to 255/85R16. Should I be?

Will the 315/75R16 fit with no modifications or cutting?

Might have found my own answer.

Looks like 305 would be a better bet. Any input on if this would require spacers?

I have 285/75/16 and it rubs a little at full tilt. Just touches the plastic, nothing bad. My sig has a pic of my Ex with the 285.

Actually that look is more what I was going for. I don't want anything crazy, but the gap between the tire and wheel well is just too big. I want to fill it out a bit more.

I have 305/70R 16 mounted on wider aftermarket rims on my 03 Ex 6.0. I was told these were the biggest I could get without a lift and no rubbing. Its worked for the last 9 years.

I loved my Toyo ATs. Great traction, quiet, never went flat no matter how many nails stuck in em.

Have Nitto Dura grappler HTs now. (Was told milage would be better with highway tread vs all terrain) Stay away from these. Terrible in rain, need 4wd for any snow.

I'm goin back to Toyos next, but after 9 years and a lot of salt water rims lookin less than fine. Considering goin to 20s. Not sure its worth the $$$.

I have used the Goodyear Silent Armor's on both of my Ex's and love-em. Excellent wet or dry stoping, do not squeal on take-off long tread life. On my '05 I had 285 75R16's ran great never rubbed when I turned. I now have a '00 and went down to a 265 75R16's and They do not look small on the Ex.
