302 vs. 351

302 vs. 351

I'm building a prerunner using a courier and can't decided which engine to use it's between the 302 or 351w. I'm not trying to get 500hp or any thing like that. I'm just looking to have plenty of power and reliability. also how hard is it to change an efi back to carborated?

Define plenty of power.
If you have the room a 351 wins every time all else being equal. EFI to carb is simply a matter of changing the induction, ignition, and fuel systems.

around 350rwhp is what I'd be fine with

and what manual tranny would i want to use? i'm using a 9' solid rear end

It easier to get 400 fwHP from a 351 (less rpm) and it's therefore more reliable, this will require a complete aftermarket topend of course. Lots of trans options, T18 and T19 4 speeds or a ZF 5speed though I don't see you needing overdrive.

what's the biggest difference between the t18 and t19? and they'll both work for a 2wd right?
