Windshield washer fluid reservoir - need help/input
I know this isn't an E-series forum, as there aren't many that are popular, but I have a 2003 E-250 with a blackhole/bottomless pit for a windshield fluid reservoir. There's no way to tell how much fluid is in there, and I can dump almost a gallon w/o it overflowing. what gives?

What does the owner's manual say? The dealer who sold it to you should be able to answer that question for you - have you tried calling your salesman? If the neck goes straight into the reservoir, you could store a dipstick under the hood to check the level.

Maybe this is just a personal preference, but I never even use windshield washer fluid. What's the point of it anyways? It just smears you windsheild worse than it was before. If your windsheild is really getting that dirty often enough that you need to use the fluid, then you must live someplace really dirty

I dunno what fluid and wiper blades you use, but whenever I hit the juicer button, my windshield is CLEAN.
I use Tripledge silicone wiper blades from Wal-Mart in conjunction with Rain-X wiper fluid (the winter mix) along with a nice Rain-X treatment on all of my windows on all my vehicles (this setup goes for all the cars/trucks I work on/own).
Anytime there's pollen, dirt, mud, etc... I can hit the wiper + juice button and its clean if not spotless.
I find that this is very important for safety reasons because when your windshield is clean, you can see farther and see better day or night.

In Oregon where it rains all the time and you get road grime on the glass al the time, you use a lot of wiper fluid or you cannot see. When I lived in California, I used maybe a gallon every few years. In Oregon I use a gallon every couple months.
Anyway... sounds like you have a big reservoir, I have a chebby that takes a gallon easy. So just fill it till it reaches the neck. Some reservoirs have a removable screen in the filler neck, take it out if you want to see the level.
Unless you have a leak, the reservoir will fill up eventually so just fill it up to the top of the neck. Good idea to wash or wipe off any spills.

You need to put something that will "float" into your bottomless jug. My 94 Grand Am has an orange felt looking type of a stick in the jug that rises up as the fluid is poured in.

I noticed you live in AZ- if you lived up here in the North, you'd know why washer fluid is so important!
As for that tank, yeah, it's a dumb design. You can partially fix it by replacing the top 6-8 inches of the black plastic filler tube with a clear tube- you'll see the fluid coming up the neck before it overflows. Why Ford doesn't use a clear tube is beyond me- it wouldn't cost them any more, do ya think?
