I felt this thread was necessary for a few reasons. One is we all wanna know what everyone else is listening to and what's everyone's set it up.
I still have the same 2000 factory set up and i think it sounds great. If i have a little something left after this years income tax i might just get a nice touch stereo but i don't need anything more then what i have as far as speakers.
My selection when on the road is mostly fiddle music. When the kids are in the car i sometimes have to surrender to what ever they're into but me personally like to ride out to The steel drivers, Soggy bottom boys, Elvis and stuff to that nature. I was big on rap once but the crap that's out there now is not worth listening to or putting in my stereo. Back when bass was big i was know to blast 12's on double crossover amps and things. I guess the older you get the simpler things become.
So what's in your stereo?

Mine is the stock 6 disc with a 10" kicker and not sure what amp. Soon as i can i am upgrading the head unit, i miss having a USB port so i can charge/listen to music from my iphone. Oh and definitely the speakers soon, the pioneer 6x8s i had in my old truck were so much better than stock
I've got a touch screen JVC arsenal deck that play music from my phone wirelessly with Bluetooth (love that feature I hate clustered wires) it has the Sirius ready Pandora and other junk but I never used it.
I've got 4 alpine type R door speakers powered by an alpine 500 watt amp. Got 2 Orion speakers in the third row. Two 12" Orion (for now) subs pounded with an alpine 1,000 watt amp. Absolutely nothing in my system is stock not even the door wires, ran my own 16 gauge.
Sounds awesome crystal clear treble and chest shaking bass on the right songs. I can be heard before my loud engine can be heard!
As for music I love my good ole rock n roll, and metal for the majority. Country rock is good and the occasional song from other genres
I swapped out the 6 disc stock (didn't work) to a single DIN Alpine head unit that plays mp3 and WMA. It was a spare sitting around. Was top of the line about 10 years ago. Gave my old stock head unit to another member here in AK.
Classic rock for me. Rush, Zeppelin, Floyd, Who, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Supertramp...you get the idea. Love old metal like Sabbath (Ozzy and Dio), Maiden, Metallica (Cliff Burton), Megadeth...
Still all stock, 6disc basic audio but will be adding an in-dash Pioneer DVD/rear camera combo in the near future and I might put in this extra set of RF Punch P2 12's and the 300.1 punch amp that I had in my Mustang at one point. They are in a basic Q-Logic wedge. Later down the road I'll throw some composites in in the doors.
I have a pioneer dvd/nav/rearview camera. And pioneer 150watt truck speakers that I made a bracket for and mounted in the spare tire spot. Also have a 400 watt amp running the rear speakers
