transmission fluid quantities

transmission fluid quantities
Approximately how much transmission fluid does the pan hold, for a C6 (1974). I basically drained it and just need an approximate. Thinking 3-4 quarts?

If you never drained the t-converter you might start out with four, then keep adding until it's full. It probably holds about 12 to 14 if the t-converter was drained. I believe my AOD was 13.5 with a new t-converter.You need the trany warmed up good and check it at idle in park.

Nope, TC wasn't drained. Just replaced the vacuum modulator and fluid drained out of that hole, which is at bottom of casing, but not quite to the pan.
