ignition problem 1995 f150 please help.

Hopefully someone here can help me. This is driving me nuts!
1995 f150 4x4 351w 191000mi

With Spout In and koer = Code 213 (Open Spout)
Timing is at full advance 45/50 deg. Engine missing, rough idle, runs jerky and bad detonation runs rough around 2000rpm and a few other spots on up the tach. You can watch the tach bounce a little around 2000.

With Spout out:
Timing is 14deg and runs very smooth, tach not jerky or bouncy, smooth rpm when accelerated, idle still shifts up and down - a little rough at idle. Truck has power not jerky when you accelerate.

I went through this test. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/at...7&d=1300490013

PA1 12.21v

PA2 Resistance less than 5ohm - it measures 0 to .2ohm (pin 36 pcm to spout on remote icm) pin 36 is spout wire.

PA3 Voltage greater than 10.5v - pin36 to( ground 40 or ground 60) is 0 volts (goto pa4)

PA4 Is resistance Greater than 10,000 ohm. (here is where I get stuck. The meter on all connections shows 'Infinite Resistance (IR)" I assume that falls within the description. here is description below of pa4 pins

For short to VREF test pin 36(spout) to 26(Ref Volt Output) = IR

For short to Ground test pin 36 to (16 ign ground, 20 pcm case ground, 40 ground, 46 sensor sig return, 60 ground) = IR

For short to pip test pin 36 to 56 crank position sensor = IR

No breakout box installed, but all tests indicate to disconnect pcm and icm, I am testing the right pins on the harness.

My question is, do those values look normal? So I can go on to Dist Ign diagnostic section 8a.

Thankyou.

Yes all are normal.
You may go to section 8A.
Make sure the ICM has a black color to it also.

So you have one of these parts bad:
PIP sensor.
ICM.
PCM.

Thanks! I spent $60 on a no core Richporter dizzy. Dropped it in and solved the problem and removed the code. I ordered a pip from rockauto for $18 total to put into the old dizzy for a spare.

I did the exact same thing. i think i've put 6 distributors total in my bronco since i got it. they were all due them being crappy reman'd ones. the richporter was the last one i bought and still running great. I have like a 12 page thread about my journey on FSB.
