Does your key in the ignition chime work (key in ignition + door open = annoying "ding" "ding" "ding")?
If not, and if my memory servers me on my 2002, the black w/pink stripe wire is the lead from the ignition sensor that detects the key. reconnecting this wire will reconnect your key in the ignition chime.

Gary, you are correct! I put the key in the ignition and stuck those two wire-ends together and the dinger dinged like it hadn't dinged in a long, long time!!!! I actually thought about leaving it connected, but after about 8-10 dings, I changed my mind! I suppose the previous owner disliked that sound as much as I do.
SO, are we having fun yet? Guess we learned a little something here about all this wiring stuff, but I also guess I'm back to square one on the FTP issue. Need to look at that switch, I guess.........
