Flash to pass....
Guess I'll check it out when I get home. The sun will be up then.........
We have flash to pass on our trucks?
Well, I have a 2002 S/D and mine has it, This is when you pull up on your turnsignal lever and that will hold your lights on till you let the lever down in nuetral position. This will work when lights are on or off!! To answer the question, it is probbaly your switch
has gone bad,it would be easy to check if you know which wires coming out of switch send juice to the lights when you pull lever up and check with a meter! I have the same switch on my Sterling (Ford OTR Tractor) and will replace one every 6 months, which is roughly 60,000 miles. I am not sure of a fuse, but could be a unatached wire???
Hope this helps,
Lenny

I wasn't trying to actually get someone to move over when I noticed the problem. I was just wanting to see the effect of having the brights and dims on at the same time. My truck is a 2000, and the brights aren't really as bright as I would like them to be. Man, hose headlights on my brother-in-law's 2003 sure do look good. Wish I had available capital to make that switch.........

Anyways, here's a report on what I have discovered:
I decided to check fuses 7 and 30, like FortyFords suggested. I raised the hood and popped off the fusebox cover (P/N F65B-14A003-C, in case you're interested), and proceeded to evaluate my fuses. In this box, I noticed 2 diodes, 6 relays, and only 29 fuse locations (I have no fuses in #s 15, 16 & 28). Number 7 looked good, and since there was no #30, I reinstalled the cover, and went inside the cab. There, I removed the panel from underneath the steering column (panel P/N F81B-25044F08-AEW, if ya wanted to know). I popped off that fusebox cover, and saw 5 relays and 31 fuse locations (no fuses in #s 5, 6, 9, 10, 17, 18, 21, 23, 25, 26 & 31 for me). I looked at both #7 and #30, and both were good. I also noticed that Ford had placed a handy-dandy fuse removal tool on the inside of the fusebox cover. I thought that was right neighborly of them. While I was in there, I decided to check out the wiring coming out of the steering column. There is one large group of wires that comes out of the column, containing 8 smaller wires. Two of them, one gray with an orange tracer, the other gray with a white tracer, go to a single plug. The other 6 go to another plug, in two rows of three connections. From left to right across the top was a solid black wire, a blue w/ red tracer, and a blue w/ black tracer. The three wires across the bottom of that plug are a black with a fuschia tracer, a green w/ orange tracer, and a solid blue wire. I noticed that my black wire with the fuschia-colored tracer was broken completely into. I speculate that this may be my problem, but I wanted to consult with the experts on here before I reconnect anything. Actually, I didn't have time to work on it as my son had another baseball game this evening! Really, the only thing that I see that is not working is the flash to pass, so I didn't want to jump in without finding out if someone else has knowledge about what all these wires are for.
ANYWAYS.....sorry this post was so long. I just love tinkering with my truck, and I wanted to share the details with you all. Knowing that I have yous guys to discuss these matters with makes it that much more fun!!! Lemme know what y'all think.........
. I found some wires with pink tracers........but seriously...
Assuming I'm reading the wiring diagram correctly, the FTP jumper is intergral to the multifunction switch. The four wires from the multifunction switch are dark blue/orange in and gray/orange out on the constant hot side, and red/yellow in and red/black out on the switched power side.
I did not see a black/pink (or fuschia) wire anywhere in the headlights wiring diagram.
It could get real confusing if it does!
Fuse # 7 (30amp) main light switch
You should have 12volts on gray/org and rd/blk when hold ftp switch in that pos.
Gray /org wire feeds fuse #30 (15amps) circuit changes to lightgreen/blk wire and continues on to low beams/ both headlights .
The rd/blk wire feeds fuse #46 and fuse #47 both are 10amps then cicuit changes to Darkbrown /white wire off fuse 46 to your left headlamp high beam and from fuse 47 on a dark green/organe wire to your right headlight.
But if you drl or auto lamps will start over Rich

Cookie 88
gave you the wires going to the switch and coming out of it .
I just gave you where they go after the FTP
switch
