1994 E150 Door Locks do not work

Hi Guys,
I have a 1994 conversion van and the door locks do not work at all. The actual cyclinders will work if you hook 12 volts to them directly. Checked all fuses everything seems fine there. There is no power at the switches. Is there a Module or relay for the door lock system? If so , where is it located and does anyone know the part number? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

If the van was built with factory door locks, the locks are controlled by a module behind the driver seat, inside the wall. You will have to remove the trim to get to it.

If the van was given an aftermarket power lock system, you will have to hunt for it on your own.

In '94 its unlikely the Remote Keyless Entry Module (RKE) was used---don't think they came about until '02 or so? My '97 and '00 didn't have that module but the '03 does.

On the '94 factory PDL's were simply wired into the master control switch on the drivers side front door.

Of course conversion vans were a whole other story----best of luck there!

Sorry if I'm mistaken about this.

My 95 Wagon has factory RKE, factory power windows, and a factory alarm with starter disable (called the 'security personality module' in some documentation, or anti-theft in others). Ford also granted it an airbag, cruise control, and 4 wheel ABS.

TSB 93-24-12 even gives a few details about the system used on pre 95 systems.

I had to hunt around for my service CD, but could only fine my 92 disc. 92 vans should be substantially similar to your 94, as this service guide appears similar to my 95.

The odds of you finding this information legitimately for sale from a Ford source are pretty slim, so here is the diagnostic routine for a 92's power lock system.
