Mirror extend switch

Hi guys, I have an intermittent problem with my mirror switch when trying to extend or retract the mirrors. I've taken it to the dealer but of course it works every time for then. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the switch panel just pops off or is there some trick to get to the switch?

Don't have an answer to your question, but curious what kind of intermittent problem are you having?

I sometimes have to push the switch a half dozen times, or more, to get the mirrors to move whether extending or retracting.

I had that problem, then it just quit working at all.
Was replaced under warrenty. It was the mirror that went bad, not the switch.

Rob17,
I replace the little speaker in my driver side rear door in 2011 crew cab.
You remove the visible screws and then lift the door panel straight up.
Then you can access the plugs on the back of the switches. Have your window down so you can get to the plugs easier. I'm sure the driver's door is very similar in assembly.

Were both mirrors not working? When it happens neither mirror will go in or come out.

I hope one day it will fail altogether but with my luck it will remain intermittent until the warranty runs out.

Well, I discovered that the switch panel pops off rather easily and the switch looks very easy to replace. But yikes, the dealer wants $80 for the switch!
