When you select which side/mirror to adjust the directional switch or toggle, will only direct the mirrors up/down or to the left. When the left side is selected it will only adjust the mirror outward and up/down, and the right side when selected will only adjust inward and up/down.
I'm guessing the switch needs to be replaced, or could there possibly be a wire that came off the switch? Is there a website to order the replacement switch new and/or used, or is the dealer the only option?
I just bought one of these switches from my local dealer about a month and a half ago and I'm pretty sure it was less than $20(I know I wouldnt have paid $40 for it). I to had the same problem and got tired of it.
The panel just pops off. Pry up the front edge. You will at least be able to see the bottom of the switch. I have had problems with the driver door lock switch and just popped the panel off and hit it with some compressed air. Its worth a shot.
Good deal. I haven't much time to mess around lately trying long complicated fixes. I have an oil leak up around my turbo I'm trying to find time to dig into as well which is more important, but yes that mirror is really aggravating.
