Hey guys, I was told by our Ford dealer that running fuel additives in our 6.7L is not necessary and that if I did it would harm the fuel system and throw codes?? What? I have been faithful to Lubro Moly Super Diesel Additive for the last 7 years in my 6.0L. We have 2 cases left, seems weird not to run it. Anyone know what these guys (dealer) are talking about?
Seems weird that when I go up to the service counter at my dealer they have the PM-22 and PM-23 on the counter for sale. Then in the winter time, what does ford say about fuel gelling issues? I had a CEL, due to gelling issues, was told to put PM-23 into the tank by the dealer. Instead I went with Opti Lube XPD, then going to run the Summer blend when it gets warmer.
Ran a couple cans of the fuel additive that I've been using and no problems. Can't say if it's doing better with it or not, couldn't really tell any mpg improvement. Probably too early to tell. : )
