need help! changed intake gasket now having ignition problems.
Ok I changed the intake gaskets on my 90 bronco 5.0 e4od and now I'm having ignition ignition issues. Sometimes when I turn my key I get nothing, like the battery is disconnected. If I turn the key off then back on it has (for now) started. I just finished the intake last night and never had a problem before. my steering column is lose at the knuckle for tilt. Has been since I got it. I loose all presets on my headunit when this happens. Im thinking ignition switch, but would that cause my presets to be erased? battery cables are tight. Any help appreciated!!
Not sure. I have only had the rig about a year but they are clean and show no signs of dry rot or cracking. Only thing I did diffrent was I had to replace the intake bolts and one of the back ones was a stud that held a ground wire. I grounded that wire to the bracket holds the tad and tab.
For some reason I have a feeling this isn't related to you changing the gasket haha, maybe you bumped a wire on the starter solenoid or something? I would start at the battery and run through all your wires to make sure they aren't loose or broken.
was it the engine to body ground that you moved? if so that could be your problem. bad grounding can make a truck do some weird things. i had a truck once that's headlights would dim if you forgot to hook up the wire from neg battery to body.

That was my first tought. Checked all the wires on the starter solenoid and all look good nothing loose. Its strange that this just started after I change the intake gaskets! I may change the solenoid just to eliminate that as a culprit.

Yes it was the body ground. I grounded it to the bracket that supports the tad and tab. The bracket has a brace that goes down and connects to the block. I figured that was good enough but I have been wrong a time or two in my life! Lol. Ill try grounding it to the block end of the brace instead of the bracket end.
