can someone identify if this is the 4.6L that was manufactured at the Romeo or Windsor plant? I got that number off the drivers side valve cover. I compression tested my engine this afternoon and it appears that it is screwed so I am looking into a remanufactured long block. The 8th number on the VIN is a 6 which leads me to believe Windsor but I don't want to order the wrong one.
that is not helpful. a search of some other posts on this site show that some folks got a romeo engine even though the 8th digit of the VIN was a 6. Ford site I looked at says to verify by engine code not VIN. Guess I will have to call Ford in the morning.

And the year of the truck is? If the 1997 F150 listed in your "About Me" profile: 6 = 4.6L (281 cid) SOHC MFI V8 assembled at Windsor Ontario Canada.
